I have an LG with WebOS and have youtube premium and haven’t seen any ads so far (though it may be regional). Cheers for the link, tough. I wonder if it works on Japanese versions
Reddit -> Beehaw until I decided I didn’t like older versions of Lemmy (though it seems most things I didn’t like are better now) -> kbin.social (died) -> kbin.run (died) -> fedia.

If they face harassment and it can be documented, there is some recourse as of late, but I don’t know specifics there.
The boss tearing up a resignation letter is not legally binding in any way and the employee is not obliged to stay beyond the legally mandated notice period (two weeks in the vast majority of cases). There are many reasons the birth rate here isn’t going up, but that’s not one of them (though it is an example of power harassment which has recently gained more penalties and legal recognition, though there’s a ways to go on that).
I posted above, but it does not. A regular, full-time employee without any other special circumstances needs only give 2 weeks of notice (make sure to keep receipts) and the company can pound sand thereafter.
Citation? The legal protections are all still very much there.
正社員 sei shain - true company employee. The retirement thing kinda depends on a lot of things, but it is really hard to get fired.
I just made a post, but it’s illegal in almost all cases. As a regular, full-time (seishain) employee out of probationary period, two weeks notice is all that is legally required and them saying ‘no’ does fuck all to change that.
which can be seen as the ultimate form of disrespect in the world’s fourth-biggest economy, where workers traditionally stick with one employer for decades, if not for a lifetime.
The fuck are you on about, CNN?
In the most extreme cases, grumpy bosses rip up resignation letters and harass employees to force them to stay.
This is more true. Power Harassment here is a huge thing. In almost all cases, a full company employee legally just needs to give 2 weeks of notice to the boss and HR. Keep receipts, but that’s it; there is no more obligation aside from that in 99% of cases. An employer can’t just ‘deny a resignation’ legally. They can pound all the sand they would like.
Who? On second thought, I don’t think I want to know.
I’ve been living without the first two for years now. I could live without youtube if I really needed to, though I do watch a lot of stuff about farming that is really helpful. Most of my youtube watching is educational with a slight smattering of games and entertainment and a tiny bit of news.
My dad, my classmate’s family, and I all had one in the early '90s. An old friend collected (probably still does) them and had a variety in his closet. I think we can safely say ‘at least around 20’ now.
Dad was also in a commodore user group back before the modern internet. Those meetings were always fun.
And here I am with cucumber plants that have been going crazy and more than my wife and I can eat or preserve.
In Japan, we just smack them with something like a rolling pin, butt of a knife, etc.
And, around launch, didn’t have payment processors in multiple countries meaning people were just fucked by exclusives
I just set all the twitter and meta domains to localhost in my hosts file; no accidental clicks that go through for me :)
yep! I was ignoring the weight part; I just think a lot of people didn’t know US coinage used to contain some silver.
When I started, I picked Beehaw on lemmy. I hated the autorefresh and some other settings (around language IIRC, but it’s been a while) not saving and/or not working. I went to kbin as a result. I know lemmy no longer autorefreshes in newer versions, but I just got used to the layout and feel of mbin.
Ending in 1964 (IIRC) some US coins contained small amounts of silver.
Here’s hoping it is fine. I had tried to sign up here rather than .run but had issues at that time. Cheers!
Work has me using my current phone for alerts on my on-call rotation. I asked them to send me a pager instead if I can’t properly filter the alerts (Jira on Android has at least 2 sets of notification settings and then there are settings apparently within Jira. I was getting basically every Jira, Confluence, etc. message).
