It still gets security updates, just not iOS17 support. My mum is on the 6s with iOS 15 and that still gets security updates. It’s my secondary phone, and in it’s lifetime l’ve had a two Pixels and a Samsung that I had to return for build faults (Pixel) or they stopped doing software updates/security updates.

There are many faults for Apple, but their iOS support can’t compare to any first party Android. iPhone owners don’t NEED to upgrade every two/three years, they do it because they’re dumbasses.

Listen, I can’t lie…my iPhone X is the best phone I’ve owned. Bought in 2017 and still going strong with promised support until 2026/27. I still have fond memories of “paying” my parents back for it (I was child labour 😀)

No, in regards to Elon, he has always been a weirdo with women, starting with his first wife according to this essay published in 2010.

None of the claims in the Verge article are surprising if you ever read Justine Musk’s essay.

Very true. I personally know two people who were at Nvidia who have retired/are in the process of leaving now, and it hasn’t been a hassle for them personally. That obviously doesn’t speak for everyone ofc.

I also think Nvidia wants to buy back as many shares as possible from their employees like every other big public tech giant is doing right now.

I’m like 90% sure Nvidia employees get stock options, but I’m not sure if that’d be the case for the newest batch of hires.

But yeah, this is a clear cut illustration of how salaries undervalue the actual labour provided, I don’t think any Nvidia employee’s getting 100M from their stocks + salary.

If you have it from a new iPhone, you can literally cancel it from your settings >> Apple ID >> subscriptions. I have no idea how to do it on any other Apple device (because I don’t own any others) but I know my dad had a hell of a time cancelling something for his Macbook.
