8·7 months agoI got annoyed at not finding CC for the media I have dubbed, so if the show/movie is originally in English and I have it in Spanish, the Spanish subtitles are not from the Spanish audio, but translations of the English audio, so they don’t usually match.

It’s been pretty good, for youtube videos (10-30 minutes) has been perfect.
But there are some issues when I tried it with movies, the timings are not great, and sometimes it hallucinates some words in parts where there aren’t any. Just a few words are actually wrong/missing. (I tried it with fastwhisper since I don’t have that much ram)
Well, that’s what has always been mentioned, defederated from them, AFAIK there’s no way of blocking it completely from the fediverse, so if your instance’s admin wants they can decide to not block them and you can interact with meta.
If your instance defederates and you want to still see their activity then you can choose an instance which is still federated with them.
0·8 months agoI’m using PiHole with my tailscale to use their MagicDNS.
This shares the PiHole among all the devices connected to the tailnet, and in the PiHole you can configure your local DNS to point your domains to your tailIP.
My setup has several services in a single machine, so there’s also the issue of ports, for that I use caddy as a reverse proxy, which also allows me to have HTTPS only configuring the key to my registrar for the DNS challenge
Unless they’ve changed how it works I can confirm.
Some months ago I was testing lemmy in my local I used the same URL to create a new post, it never showed up in the ui, it was because Lemmy treated it as a crosspost and hid it under the older one.
At that time it was only a crosspost jf the URL was the same, I’m not so sure about the title, but the body could be different.
The thing would be to verify if this grouping is being done by the UI or by the server, which might explain some UIs showing duplicated posts.
