I’m very well aware that all of these problems can be fixed. But you need to put extra work in. There is no benefit for doing that.

• Well Raytracing doesn’t work in Cyberpunk 2077. Besides that, some other games also have terrible performance. Even Minecraft, that’s running natively. Constant stutters with low GPU utilization.
• Logitech keyboard works but I cannot configure it because the software is not supported on Linux
• Xbox controller does not connect with the dongle unless I install the xone drivers
• I can think of a dozent more software other than the Logitech one that don’t have an installation for Linux

Sure you can fix any of these problems above like running Windows software with Wine or installing the appropriet drivers. But I don’t want to do that if I can just use Windows with no extra work.

Except for (raytraced) games, for your Logitech keyboard, your Razer headset, your Xbox Controller not connecting, your Windows-only Software that won’t work.

It’s terrible. You probably just found a way to live with it and get used to.

It would work exactly the same. What makes you think it would be inferior? It’s not like a machine that has a manufacturing quality. This is software. And the data for training they already have.

Blu-rays do not actually take up this much space: On a 1TB drive you can store about 10-12 4K movies. You need a backup and you need a second drive for your Raid setup. This takes up quiet a lot of space too.

Besides that: storing the movies on a Raid system is a lot more expensive. If I’d rip all of my blu-rays to a digital copy, I’d need like 12 TB of storage. In a raid setup with backup, that’s quiet expensive!

This is entirely different. Copilot and Chatgpt doesn’t exactly reproduce the code. It’s paraphrasing it. By your logic you’re not allowed to implement anything as the majority of algrithms originate from scientific research and papers that also have copy-rights on them.

It doesn’t recognize the sponsor sections. The community does that. I don’t believe there is any tool right now that can automatically detect the sponsor sections.

He has a point though. Just think of Reddit and Lemmy where people mindlessly hive-mind vote some posts. When you see something massively upvoted, you tend to upvote (immediately). Same goes for downvotes. In contrary, if the votes do no show, you only vote when you actually mean it.

Purchasing and producing renewable energy is the same thing. If you purchase it, somebody else is producing it for you.

Sorry I was a little wrong. Apparently 100% of Googles annual electricity consumption is matched with renewable energy that is supplied back to the grid. So basically, at night when there is no sun they use power from the grid and during the day they compensate it with excess renewable energy production.

It’s not 100% carbon neutral. But it doesn’t sound that bad either. There is worse things than that.

Thinks that are wrong and bad UI design in my opinion:

• the green and blue don’t work at all together. Generally the coloring is quiet extravagant everywhere, especially with the message “this app has been built for an older version […]”
• the spacings and margins aren’t coherent everywhere. Like in the app description where the margin to the bottom is okey but to the sides it’s much smaller and almost non-existent.
• the grid cells don’t really stand out enough. White on White with such little shadown and spacing inbetween doesn’t work.
• the animations are janky and unpolished.
• no support for Material UI 3
• buttons have too little padding inside around the icon. Buttons are generally a little too small
