I’m okay with ads (just like on broadcast TV), but only if I’m not paying for the streaming/VOD service (just like on broadcast TV). Like, I’m okay with ads on a YouTube video, but I got rid of Netflix when they cancelled a series I liked and, now that they’ve started talking about adding ads, I’ll probably not go back.
Nah, they’re probably planning to do what Amazon did with their “Just Walk Out” stores… force children into mines and just claim it’s actually AI. As NFT’s, Cryptocurrency, and so many other hype tech fads have taught us: marketing is cheaper than development.
I’m having the same issue with message/reply but otherwise it’s a great app.
It seems the way VC’s throw money at pure unadulterated hype, don’t count them out just yet. So long as you’re good at marketing, you don’t have to be good at development; you don’t have to have a good idea; you don’t have to have a product that does what you’ve promised, works or even exists… they’ll shower a literal pile of shit with money until it sparkles like a Faberge egg if you can only generate buzz.
Okay, that makes sense. Was going to ask how proprietary/locked that charger system was as it seems to be the immerging standard.
I was wondering when someone was going to create a Fediverse platform like this. Figured it would be the folks at either PixelFed or Peertube. Can’t wait to try it out!
So… like Pornhub has done for years now?
Respectfully, Dave Ramsey can suck my whole ass.
I’m sorry… are depictions of Jesus not supposed to be erotic?
Outlook is super buggy on FireFox for my phone. I found that Vivaldi has been running it fine enough though. It still fails to launch on first try from time to time, but I’ve never gotten frustrated enough to consider downloading the app.
Homer Simpson: “We live in the dumbest possible timeline… so far.”
The joke is on them… the game is definitely rigged, she’s paid off the NFL so that she can announce she’s running for president on an independent ticket against Trump and Biden.
I’ll have to check that out. I help run a secular humanist group and we’ve been trying to get away from Facebook for event planning. More than a few of our members (myself included) aren’t on Facebook and/or aren’t active there anymore. Might be a good alternative.
They think they are getting a deal, then they are getting dragged down by an unreliable vehicle that they can’t afford to fix.
If memory serves, the outliers here are Lexus and Audi which both score high on reliability ratings. I could be wrong though, is been a couple of years since I looked into owning a car.
Yeah, it does exist elsewhere; I think the point they’re making is that it is apparent the United States was founded specifically for the interests of landowning (and slave owning) rich people. While not unique globally, the USA was probably the first country intentionally founded to protect the capitalist instead of the nobility or a religious group.
Yeah, I’m not a fan of Mayor Pete by any stretch of the imagination, but they were quick to ground these.
Part of it is an effect of capitalism. What we’re seeing across the tech space is exactly what has happened to retail, airlines, automotive, and even utilities… a company is doing well enough, but the investors want more return for basically doing nothing. Then there’s a hostile takeover or shareholder revolt, they install a board that is more compliant with value extraction at any cost to customers and/or their own workers, and presto! You’ve enshitifacated a company!
Shareholders (at least the big ones) don’t care about worker safety or customer satisfaction… this is what happened to Sears. The CEO gutted the company and then took a golden parachute away from the dumpster fire he created.
So… based on this headline… studies from the NFT craze a year and a half ago are finally coming out.
*especially if you’ve got nothing to hide.
