  • It FLABBERGASTS me that people get on internet forums knowing anyone could be from anywhere and have ulterior motives and not run everything thru the very basic filter of “qui bono”, which is latin for Who benefits? The double tap is “Follow the money.”

If the opinions put across lead to a conclusion that politically oppositional countries would find beneficial…guess what…you’re talking to someone on their payroll. Or worse, you’re talking to useful idiot doing the job for free.

I’ve called out hundreds of shills over the past few years. Hundreds. The only rational way to look at opinions online is askance.

There’s a new word for you, it’s personally my favorite, so remember it, use it, love it, spread it, and apply it to the internet. And tell others to do so as well.

  • In my mind, if a company wants to set a generalized education requirement, above high school, that company should be required to pay off its employees student loans. Otherwise it’s using the education system as a subsidized training program.

Note I said generalized. Engineers, doctors, etc who desire to ever be employed can’t stop at a bachelor’s anyways. Even still, their employees should have to pick up their training tab.

Business has gotten a free pass for 40 years and look at the society they’ve created with it. Maybe civilization needs more than a love of money to sustain it. Crazy huh.

You’re talking micro about something that is macro. This isn’t rueing your fav indie band breaking into mainstream and now Karen at the front desk is using her new favorite band to try and bond with you.

EEE is a predatory business tactic used to assimilate and digest potential rivals instead of actually competing thru products. It’s anti-consumer monopoly shit, a siren’s song.

Craigslist can do it, it can be done.

Craigslist is the Achilles heel to the big tech bros, proof that they’re wrong, and Craig flag out refuses to change the site. It is what it is. And that’s it. I fucking love Craigslist, besides the various niche forums, all self hosted from their website -fuck reddit, it is hands down my favorite part of the internet.

Everything else is advertising, trackers and opportunists. The whole Internet feels like walking down a seedy alley full of grabby sex offenders in Mumbai.

That’s where I place advertisers in the social hierarchy, as peers to sex offenders, pedo’s and rapists, and I know I am not the only one with such designations. Maybe think twice about that marketing major, just saying.

  • When Musk cut off Ukraine, the Pentagon informed him that they were immediately purchasing a minor controlling stake in the, currently, private company. Service to Ukraine was restored the next day.

    That’s how “capitalism” works apparently.

I also assume that’s why NVidia did it’s sudden about face and fell right in line when the generals threatened to own them the next day.

It’s all just rich people getting reminded they’re only rich, or alive, because the government allows them to be.

  • No one in the 90s could imagine the internet without AOL or Yahoo either, and yet…

Or the great Myspace collapse of 2008. Digg before that. Tumblr most recently.

Big sites go boom fairly often.

Now, watching Google go Boom, that’s gonna be like modules breaking loose of the ISS and rez-entering the atmosphere. Drawn out over months, as one wing goes, government breaks up another wing, class action lawsuits bankrupt another wing.

Alphabets circling the drain. And good. Fuck em. Fuck Apple, Fuck Meta, Fuck Amazon, Fuck Reddit.

Just a couple more years now and imma nominate Craig from Craigslist for all the years nobel prizes for officially winning the internet.

Specific niche forums, Craigslist and Wikipedia are the last bits of honestness and fun online. And ymmv with Craigslist people being honest.
