  • Much like 2008, the pandemic never actually ended. When schools reopened, every classroom in the nation was full of children on their 4th, 5th, 6th infection in a month. Thousands of people still drop dead from it every month and the US is, to this day, still experiencing 30% more per capita deaths than pre-pandemic.

Long COVID is proven to cause permanent organ damage, including brain function. We won’t know what it does to child development until decades from now but it’s already proven to increase risk-taking and reduce higher level function in adults.

    The accumulation of capital continues.

  • Americans are (generally) just shitty human beings. This has been true since the first landing of the pilgrims. Yknow, the gang who were famously religious extremists considered too extreme for 1600s Europe.

This is the natural outcome of an individualist society. Similar to how capitalism will always result in total economic collapse, individualism is a poison to society.

Even going back thousands of years, people generally helped each other out. You can go to a random village in the Russian countryside where people live in desperate poverty and they’ll share some food and water with a smile on their face. This is generally true anywhere in the global South.

People depend on communities and societies. America has systematically destroyed all semblance of the human experience, and it shows.

  • Am I missing something or are there just no gun owners here. This is incredibly disingenuous, and even dangerous, “advice”.

A loaded gun with a round in the chamber should fire when the trigger is pulled, every single time. They should not fire when the trigger is not pulled.

Following any one of the three safety rules prevents 100% of “accidents”. There are no real gun accidents besides catastrophic mechanical failure (which does happen, but usually with shit ammo and shit guns or poorly maintained guns).

Depending on traditional safeties encourages poor gun handling habits and adds precious time to fire when milliseconds count. “Safety-less” pistols will not fire unless the trigger is pulled, period.

  • This saga has moved fast so I don’t blame you, just an FYI Intel has issued a statement saying the microcode update “will” fix all affected CPUs (it won’t, because the damage is physical) and will not be issuing a recall.

We are witnessing one of the more obvious end-game states of capitalism. Intel continues to state they don’t give a single shit about this issue, and will not do anything about it.

The corporate nihilism will continue until the collapse. More and more companies will act like this because why does anything matter when we can profit more today?

  • It literally states the program is due to a deformation of the switch, a physical issue.

I’m sure there are ways to safely engineer around it. I don’t trust any American manufacturer to do so. What guarantee do we have that it won’t continue deforming further after the fix? What happens to the patched sensor software if it does occur?

Do you unironically trust Musk enough to not open your vehicles hood at 80mph?

Really not sure why so many people on this post are having trouble understanding that concept. Maybe they want to justify their $80k paperweight lmao.
