Just to be clear, your response to seeing rich people evade justice is that… nobody should have consequences anymore?
You must get really angry at people who use food stamps instead of at people like the Waltons, don’t you?

They weren’t meant to be causative, and I stand by both of my statements. Her writing is objectively bad, and it’s a small miracle that she didn’t manage to ruin this series like everything else she’s written. Yes, I know those are strong words, and yes, I do believe them.
So no matter how much one hates Rowling (I don’t, she’s done more good than evil by far still), she’s smarter and more decent than most of the humanity. That sucks.
Lol. She lucked into an amazing world that managed to remain a good story despite her writing, not because of it. She’s not an idiot, but literally every other piece of writing she’s ever put out kinda slams the “smarter than most of humanity” line.
Yup, those are both the industry terms
I’m not a weirdo, so I don’t. My friends don’t have to buy into my version of wasting time
Turns out its just hot wheels for man-children.
Like 90% of the point of hot wheels was looking cool, so I have to respectfully disagree
Ah yes, the secret prison where you’re allowed to have/use a smartphone/computer 🙄🙄🙄
Eye rolls not directed at you, FWIW
lol. I’m old enough to have worked with SVN (and many others) as part of my day job, and I promise you that 99% of git users use literally the same exact workflow as they did/would have under any other VCS. Git’s fine, but it’s neither revolutionary nor important from a user’s perspective.
It’s interesting to see Torvalds emerge as a kind of based tech hero.
It’s just that almost everyone else that could do it ended up being fucking ghouls of people.
Torvalds can be… brusque, sure. But he doesn’t support child labor, he doesn’t cheat on his wife, and he isn’t some crazy cult leader waging a war against workers’ rights.
Yeah, at this point “Engineer” and “Developer” are 100% synonymous in the industry.
Ehhhh, depends on how your titles work, and I would argue that’s at least a little odd. Most senior engineers I know are ~50/50 code/oversight, at worst. Once you get to Principal or Staff, though, you’re lucky if you write 50 loc/week.
Senior rarely translates to something like architect anymore, it’s at least a level or two up from there.
Nah, this is a stupid internet shit-take.
Amazon support was actually great when they first started, and has just slowly slid downhill ever since. They had to start strong, because nobody really trusted online shopping yet. People forget that before Amazon was a handful of sketchy one-off websites and mail-in orders.
Hell, it’s not even “breaking even” - making the same amount of money as last year is considered a failure, even if that number is astronomical.
I left over the past year 🤷♂️ I imagine more and more will do so as the service continues to slide further to shit
I’ve been using the same DeathAdder for like 10 years 😅 what are you doing to these poor mice
NZXT just started expanding on making components, and has really feature stuff. One to watch, though higher-end.
NZXT has always been some really mediocre stuff at ridiculous markup, I don’t have literally any faith in this statement
What are the problems with Razer? I’ve only used their mice, so I honestly don’t even know what else they make
It’s Facebook… They’re 100% going the Windows route so that you can’t turn off all of the data collection that will go straight to them.
We received no response from either party, while The WaPo was told by TMTG that “We heard Trump and Musk were actually discussing buying the Washington Post but they decided it had no value.”
lol… Bezos already has - and, unlike Musk, continues to generate - effectively infinite money. Why on earth would he sell WaPo?
Interesting, I’m actually the exact opposite. I always start with Google, because it’s usually good enough, but whenever it takes 2-3 tries to get something relevant, I switch to ddg and get it first try.
