A way I have found to explain federated social media to people, that seems to work is this: Imagine reddit, but instead of one company, with one administration, owning the whole site, it is a bunch of different reddits, that are independently run, that choose which other reddits they wish to associate themselves with. When you log into one instance, you automatically can see, and interact with, all the other ones that one chooses to associate with. You can have accounts on as many instances as you would like, even having accounts on instances that do no associate with each other.

Well firing them into the sun is extremely difficult, and resource intensive. Sending them on a one way trip to Somalia isn’t. There are plenty people who are far more radicalized than them there as it is. So they can go be radicals in Somalia, where they have no influence, power, protection, and most will hate them as a default. They will most likely just never be heard from again.

Send them to Somalia, where they can experience a truly small government country with very conservative social views.

They are going to get one when a western tech company copies them to fill the vacuum they left. Their only real advantage is their leg-up with their earlier footing. There is nothing particularly interesting in their software, it’s easy to copy, and someone likely will. If they do not get a copycat, their crowd will move on to some other thing and, being in the same industry, will still be a competitor.

They have a leg up, they would have to use their early footing to compete. If they go, the vacuum of their loss of presence will open a spot for an american tech company to copy them. Either way, they are going to get competition from an american tech company. Nothing they are doing is esoteric in a way that would make them hard to copy. There really is no secret sauce, so to speak, in the software. If they are doing it to hide something then then it lends credence to the US’s accusations, at least it leaves a grey area for that speculation. This gives the US a big avenue to push that they are right and everyone should be cautious of their media business.

They aren’t being forced to sell their operations in the entire world, just the US. So, doesn’t it make better financial sense, if all legal options to keep control fail, that they sell their US operation to another company, and at least get billions of dollars before exit, than to just lose the market and get not billions?

A man named Raghavan has been taken on as a major operational manager for yahoo, ibm, etc. Seems his direction of their operations lines up with a sudden collapse in quality in the areas he was at. Regardless everyone seems to discuss how he is one of the best researchers in field. The dark design, and other issues, google has been seeing an increase in, for years, is basically his direction and, while he isn’t the CEO, he basically runs google.

Anything I have done, that hasn’t run out its statute of limitations, I never post online. So I am good. Not that they could have pinned anything i put on reddit to a specific person with any certainty anyways.

The school could provide a time and space for learning how to make better videos. It doesn’t have to be a fuck off and make tiktoks in lieu of going to curriculum classes. Make it something akin to a vocational class, even if an extra-curricular. Less a space for kids to fuck off during the day to make lame tiktoks and more of a means of teaching video production and the things that go into it. Photography, editing software, basic equipment operation, how to properly record audio, lighting, all of that type off thing.

This may sound ridiculously expensive, but I have seen schools have classes, and clubs, that do just this for just over two thousand dollars. This won’t stop kids from being disruptive with whatever bullshit is popular at the time, nothing will, but it can enrich those that do these things with actual interest in the craft.

It’s not there to guide the surgical procedure. It will be running image inspection looking for tools, skin color changes, and other very small vital signs that the team might not pick up. It will also be taking the data from the patient’s monitors and cross referencing their data against details of known medical issues.

As a replacement for continuous use snow chains though… well you would make the tired several times more expensive, and tires aren’t cheap to being with, and they will likely fail before the winter is done with.
