So it’s not a problem with AI. It’s just a problem for some mayfly companies that try to profit from the latest trend?

My lukewarm take is that all this hate on AI is really just hating on big companies trying to squeeze money out of some new development. AI (or rather LLMs) are not the problem.
You can’t just say “perchance”
We do this in Ruby all the time, we just prefer methods over variables, usually.

This one paid off. Read the interviews given by mr Arbaugh. Musk is an ego-driven maniac, you won’t get any argument from me. But as a result a bunch of scientists got more funding than they normally would for this project that gave great joy and some measure of independence to a young quadriplegic, maybe with more to follow.
You want to hate on Musk? I’ll happily join you. But if you’re one of those assholes rooting against these doctors and scientists doing ground breaking work with Musk’s money, that’s a pretty terrible take.
Ragebait and the internet, together forever.
Quick someone SLAM JK Rowling for saying more idiotic nonsense. We need more celebrities SLAMMED as soon as possible. Some politicians too, keep on SLAMMING folks!
Because we all decided that shit and free is better than good and paid
Why would you ask a bot to generate a stereotypical image and then be surprised it generates a stereotypical image. If you give it a simplistic prompt it will come up with a simplistic response.
Good idea now do the same for adults
Or business decides all specs and design decisions that were made last quarter were actually garbage and yes we do want to be able to manually override every step of the carefully designed state machine. We’d like to be able to manually change all calculated sales data, but also the data needs to remain in a consistent state at all times. Oh and while you’re there, we decided the commission calculations will use a different system from now on. We expect it to be online by the end of the week, thanks.
Hahaha $24 per month. That’s three times what I spend on my phone bill. Hahahahaha
Hey it’s a free world. You’re welcome to migrate to a different instance. Heck why not run your own? That’s the power of the fediverse. Or just head back to Reddit.
You’re not wrong but a friend (maybe even inadvertently) being negligent with my message, and a business structurally sending my message (received from my friend’s app) to third parties seems like a different ballpark.
Here I pay 1 euro per month extra for unlimited calls+SMS. Still no one uses it.
Maybe in enterprises settings what you say makes sense, but for the small to medium startups I usually work for, RoR is great. It’s super easy to prototype and switch lanes. If I had to do what I do in Java I’d go insane. As for Delphi…
The RoR “magic” being obtuse is extremely exaggerated most of the time and more meme than reality. If you think PHP is better, by which I guess you mean Laravel, how on earth is that less “magical”? React? Next? I’ll take Ruby any day.
I mean I’ve been using ActiveRecord for the last 20 ish years and I’ve never encountered or even heard of this bug. Sounds like you came across an especially obscure one.
Ragging on older generations though, comedy gold.
… In contrast, Microsoft’s corporate VP, Jared Spataro, told us that users are finding immediate value in Copilot
haha no really?
The register is a tech magazine, so the DIY/3D printed angle is relevant here. It’s also relevant because it would, at least to some degree, allow someone to build it themselves in places where perhaps the legality of self determination is questionable. The Register is not a place where you’ll normally find unnecessary clickbait headlines.
